1. How long does it take to make a Photo Collage Puzzle?
The steps involved in the production of a photo collage jigsaw puzzle are DESIGN, APPROVAL, PRODUCTION, DELIVERY. The total time from order to delivery will vary from order to order but a good estimate is around 10-16 days. We normally need around 3 days to design your photo collage
from the time we have received your image files
and confirmed order. You will then be sent you a preview
of the design and, after receiving your
approval, take around 8 days to produce
and delivery your puzzle. To be on the safe side, please allow 15 days lead time for your order but we may well deliver faster than this.
|
2. Can I see and approve
the Photo Collage before you produce the Puzzle?
Yes. Once we have completed a collage layout, we will email to you a small scale preview version
of the collage for approval. At this point you can request changes, add photos
or add desciptive text to the collage. We will
then incoroporate these changes and send you a
new revised preview version for approval. We will not
proceed to produce a puzzle until we have your
approval of the collage design and layout.
|
3. How many photos do I need
to send?
There is no perfect number of photo that is required
to make a good photo collage. Its good to start
out by sending us 10 to 15 image but if have less
than that then no problem. Please remember that more photos you include in the design, the smaller each image will appear.
We recommend that you
choose the best and most relevant photos you have
and send these to us. Depending upon the design,
we may choose not to include some image so please
let us know which photos "must" be included
in the design. We will let you know if we need
more images.
|
4. What should be the size
and format of the image files I send?
The simple answer to this is to send the best
quality (highest resolution) you have. The better
the images, the better the quality of the photo
collage. Photos produced from a digital camera
that is 3 megapixels or more, or prints scanned
at 300dpi or more will work fine. If you are unsure
the quality of your photos is good enough, e-mail
a few of your photos to us and we will take a
look.
Image files should be saved in a JPEG (JPG) format.
This is a standard image file format produced
by most digital cameras and scanning software.
We can also accept images in a TIFF and other format. If you are in doubt, drop us an e-mail and ask about a specific format.
|
5. How do I send my photos?
This depends upon the size of your image files.
The easiest option is to send us your image
files by e-mail to upload@jigsaw2order.com.
We would recomend that you split your images
files over a number of e-mail messages, attaching
say 3-5 image files to each e-mail message. Another
option to make it easier to send many image
files is to combine them into one zip file.
If you have very large image files or your have
problems sending your image via e-mail, we recomend
using www.mailbigfile.com or www.yousendit.com These services are free and specialize in sending large files over
the internet. All you
have to do is sign up and send your file.
If you prefer, you can mail us your image files
on a CD-ROM.

6. I only have photo prints.
Can you still make a photo collage?
Yes, we are happy to accept original photo prints or
drawings and will scan these for you, convering them
into a digital format that we can use to make
a photo collage. Your original photos or drawings
will be returned to you with your puzzle.
When sending original document, please enclose
them between two strong pieces of cardboard
to keep them safe during transportantion. Please
note we do not take any resonsibility for items
lost or damaged in the postal system.
A faster and cheaper option for you may be for you to take the original photos to your local photo lab or copy shop and ask then to take a high resolution (600dpi) scan of the photos. You can then email the digital versions of these photos to us.
|
7. My photos are quite old
- can you improve them for me?
Yes, we will review each photo that you send us
and improve it if we can. Our aim is to make the
highest quality photo collage we can with your
images. To do this, we will work on each image
to make it look the best it can and fit into the
design of the collage. Images will be retouched
to remove any dust, scratches, or fingerprints.
The exposure and colour balance of an image will
be checked and corrected if required, and the
focus sharpened if necessary.
